PlayStation Studios Head Teases Major Announcements For Upcoming Showcase
While the PlayStation 5’s hardware is certainly up to snuff, Sony’s line of exclusive first-party titles is still somewhat lacking, enough so that many PS4 owners have held off of upgrading due to there being “nothing to play” with the exception of a few games. That all seems about to change, as PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst has begun to tease some major first-party announcements for the upcoming PlayStation Showcase.
PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst recently took to social media to hype up the upcoming PlayStation Showcase, which is slated to debut next week. While the Sony exec doesn’t really give anything away, his statement is certainly stoking the fire for those looking forward to more first-party exclusives for the PS5.
Lots of exciting things going on at PlayStation Studios. Can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on ? https://t.co/RDwJsHSEQ1

PlayStation Studios Malaysia head Hasnul Hadi also had something to say, taking to Twitter to tell followers to “Be prepared. Be very prepared,” nodding to long-time PlayStation fans by saying that “patience has its rewards.”

Given the hype surrounding the event, one could easily imagine that a new Final Fantasy XVI trailer will make its debut during the showcase. Mayhaps our first look at the God of War sequel as well? Thankfully we needn’t wait long, as the PlayStation Showcase is set to air at 1PM PDT on September 9, 2021.
