Metro Exodus players on PC have received a surprise new feature in the form of official DualSense support. Pushed live recently in a recent hotfix, developer 4A Games stealthily added compatibility for Sony’s next-gen peripheral, though, the update has proven to be a bit heftier than many may have expected.

As pointed out by Twitter user @mrdomino_, the recently-released Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition now sports in-game support for the DualSense’s haptic feedback and adaptive trigger capabilities, a first for a game released on PC. Displayed in the video below, the user displays the sensitivity of the controller’s triggers, with the switch shown to replicate the pressure and feedback of firing various firearms in the game’s wasteland setting.

While support for Sony’s central PS5 controller has been offered on PC for a while now, precisely zero games had yet to take advantage of the advanced features offered by the DualSense. This exclusion even extends to Sony’s own PC releases, as both Days Gone and Horizon Zero Dawn are also currently missing full DualSense support. As these advanced features are now officially enabled for Metro Exodus on PC, it seemingly opens the door for more games to share the same immersion that was previously only available on PlayStation 5.
