PlayStation Store Wishlist Feature Returns To Web Browsers
After moving forward with a top-to-bottom overhaul of the PlayStation Store last year, it appears a legacy feature has now returned in a recent update. Going live in the last few days, the Wishlist feature has reappeared for the web browser version of the PlayStation Store, with the familiar heart-shaped icon now appearing in the navigation bar next to the shopping cart. In addition, all available game, DLC, and demo listings are now outfitted with a Watchlist button in the middle of the page, similar to the PS5 version of the store.
Ahead of the release of the PlayStation 5, the previous iteration of the PlayStation Store was replaced last October, moving forward with a more streamlined experience and dropping support for the PS3, PSP, and PS Vita. Though this was seen as a necessary change, many useful functions unfortunately fell by the wayside such as legacy purchases, listing filters, as well as the aforementioned Wishlists. The PS5 saw the game-collecting feature return back in November, but the web browser version had only continued to be absent until now.
There’s no word on when Wishlists will hit the mobile PS App, but the feature arrives as Sony has spent the last several weeks further streamlining its new storefront. Not only was a Deals section added to the PlayStation Store back in January, but the company has also decided to discontinue its movie and TV store division, leaving such content to streaming services like Disney Plus and Netflix. With Wishlists back on the menu, perhaps there may be even more changes to expect in the near future.
What do you think? Are you glad to see Wishlists back on the PlayStation Store, or do you feel there’s still way more work to do on the web experience?
