Control Coming To Xbox Game Pass With 16 New Games
While initially offered as a counterpoint to PlayStation Now, Xbox Game Pass has grown to become the central focus of the Xbox brand, with virtually all platform exclusives and regularly-available third-parties populating the service on a regular basis. With the new generation of the Series X and Series S currently upon us, team green has been significantly kicking up its offerings, with the platform recently revealing the addition of over a dozen new games, including Remedy Entertainment’s Control.
Revealed on a new Xbox Wire post, a whopping 17 titles were confirmed to be on the way to Xbox Game Pass for both console, PC, and xCloud streaming. Among the spectacular list of additions, Control is immediately worth noting as it marks the first time Remedy’s acclaimed supernatural action title has been added to the service. Other notable additions include the day-one releases of Haven, Dragon Quest XI S, and Call of the Sea, in addition to the debut of DOOM Eternal and RAGE 2 to PC and Android Game Pass respectively.
- Control (Android & Console) – December 3rd
- DOOM Eternal (PC) – December 3rd
- Haven (Console & PC) – December 3rd
- RAGE 2 (Android) – December 3rd

- Superhot: Mind Control Delete (Android & Console) – December 10th
- Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair (Android, Console & PC) – December 10th
While the appearance of Control wasn’t entirely surprising (Phil was right after all), this sheer volume of additions is surely unexpected. Usually, the service only unveils a handful of new additions at a time, but it appears the wide popularity of Xbox Game Pass and the Series X/S has prompted Microsoft to greatly expand its lineup. Not only that, but the service has also been unquestionably bolstered by Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda, as signified by new appearances from DOOM Eternal and RAGE 2.
Of course, this rollout of new titles also means several games are also on the way out from the subscription service. By the end of December 15th, 10 games are set to disappear from Xbox Game Pass across consoles, PC, and streaming, including the likes of Age of Wonders: Planetfall, Metro: Last Light Redux, and Untitled Goose Game. A full list of departures can be viewed below.
