From the announcement of Atari-themed gaming hotels to a wide variety of miniature retro consoles on the market, there’s a huge market for nostalgia and that includes almost anything from previous decades that remind folks of the good ol’ days. To cater to the crowd of folks that loved the Atari series, the Atarvi VCS 800 is coming this holiday season and they recently revealed its price tag.

The Atari VCS 800 is a hybrid console that holds 100 classic games. It has the capabilities of playing PC, console games, and features 4K resolution streaming with 60 frames per second. Folks can even watch some of their favorite TV series and movies with it. Additionally, the Atari VCS 800 includes wireless control, a PC mode, and even customizable memory. So, if the 8 gigabytes aren’t enough – you can add more.

With all the features and functionality that come with the Atari VCS 800, however, the price point isn’t as retro as its exterior design. Set at $389.99 (USD), the All-In bundle includes a wireless joystick, modern controller, and the onyx base. Each component can be purchased separately as well. Depending on the retailer you choose to go through, customers can purchase through GameStop, Walmart, or the official Atari website to get the Onyx, Carbon Gold, or Walnut colorways (see above). The Onyx one is set at a slightly cheaper price tag of $379.99.

Pre-orders for the Atari VCS 800 are available now and those of whom purchase the all-in bundle in July will have “guaranteed delivery before December 24,” according to the retail website. With the improvement of technology, recreations of old school consoles have been amped up with pre-loaded games, increased capacity in a variety of ways, and graphical improvements. It’s no wonder the price tag is hard to swallow, but for those who love to collect all things gaming – this might be a worthwhile purchase.
