Hideo Kojima Teases Several New Projects, Including A Manga And Film
The video game industry has many talented individuals amongst its ranks, but perhaps one of the most celebrated auteurs in gaming is Hideo Kojima. The talented developer is best known as the creator of the Metal Gear solid series, as well as the more recent Death Stranding PS4 game. After years of waiting for Stranding, Kojima fans have been wondering what next project the fan-favorite auteur will take on next. The enigmatic Kojima has hinted before at his plans for future creative endeavors, which has included mediums outside of gaming like feature films. A new interview has arisen in which Hideo Kojima teases what these future projects will be, and they form a rather eclectic list.
As reported on Prima Games, Hideo Kojima was recently interviewed by Famitsu of Japan on Death Stranding, as well as his plans for the future. Accompanied by the legendary Yoji Shinkawa, the pair expressed their great interest in working on a manga together. In a similar manner, the duo also wish to create new films based on Shinkawa’s artwork.
For those worried that Kojima would be stepping away from video games, it seems that his knack for developing games will not fade. Aside from plans for an ambitious big game, Kojima states that he would like to create smaller games on the side as well. This would apparently include an episodically released game, like a Telltale Game, as the concept fascinates Kojima. All of these endeavors seem like they will challenge Kojima and present him with bold new opportunities. He certainly isn’t keeping himself boxed in like Solid Snake hiding on a stealth mission.
