Pokemon Hatsune Miku Collaboration Confirmed For Japanese Snow Festival
Pokemon has had quite the year in 2019, and despite not having any significant new games confirmed for the new year, 2020 still holds promise for Pokemon fans. Pokemon has been known to collaborate and crossover with other game franchises, such as the popular Super Smash Bros. series, and has even been licensed by popular luxury brands like Rocklove jewelry. Another mega-hit franchise to come from Japan has been Hatsune Miku, the holographic pop star that manages to still captivate audiences at spectacular live events. Well, against all odds, it looks like a Pokemon Hatsune Miku crossover event is finally coming to fruition.
As reported on 4Gamer, The Pokemon Company has announced that the 71st Sapporo Snow Festival in Hokkaido Japan will feature a new Pokemon Hatsune Miku Crossover event. Attendees will see the holographic pop star alongside the Alolan form of Vulpix from Pokemon Sun and Moon as snow sculptures. A variety of merchandise will also be sold on-site featuring the pair of characters. The art for this merchandise is designed by Naoki Saito, and features Alolan Vulpix in a festive scarf, and Miku wearing a band-leader outfit.
The Sapporo Snow Festival is set to occur from February 4th through the 11th next year. While there does not seem to be any plans to bring this crossover to the west, let alone outside of the event at all, it does keep the hope alive for fans to one day witness a Hatsune Miku concert in the next Pokemon game. If The Pokemon Company decided to make that happen, it would certainly be super effective.
