Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Story DLC Is Still On The Way, Says Nintendo

The Legend of Zelda franchise will never get old with its timeless aesthetic of the golden triforce, the sound effects, and lovable characters the players get to encounter with each installment. Though it has been video game ages since Breath of the Wild was released alongside the Switch, the company is still determined to give players more content to explore. In order to do so, Nintendo announced the expansion pass (19.99 USD) in June that steadily released huge DLC to players throughout the year following its release. That same month “The Master Trials” kicked off one of the two downloadable content and now it seems the Breath of the Wild story DLC is still on its way, but it may not come sooner than later.

“The Champion’s Ballad” as the second expansion is titled adds a brand new dungeon, original story, and a plethora of other challenges to keep players entertained. Other than Nintendo’s other minor lines like the Amiibo collectibles of Mipha, Urbosa, Daruk, and Revali coming out on November 10th, Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aime, couldn’t confirm an exact release date for the second DLC.

The “holiday 2017” window is still there and he doesn’t count on the Breath of the Wild story DLC to come out on the same date as the Amiibo figures. “We will shortly be announcing the date for that content,” Fils-Aime told a reporter. “So I would not lock and load on November 10th.”

It certainly wouldn’t hurt to see an early release, and it certainly would be pushing it if the date was delayed further into December. However, seeing how determined the developers at Nintendo are at bringing content within and outside of the game, it would be fair to surmise that a mid- to late November date for the Breath of the Wild story DLC is likely.
