Xenoblade Chronicles 2 New Game Plus Mode Coming Soon

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 may have just debuted in December, but fans can’t wait for more. With an update coming soon, that may be exciting news for some or perhaps a little underwhelming for others. Nintendo revealed that version 1.3.0 will be coming mid-February, a free update that will be adding a Xenoblade Chronicles 2 New Game Plus mode. This feature is accessible after one full playthrough of the campaign, and that way players won’t have to start from scratch all over again.

A fairly standard aspect of many RPG titles, the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 New Game Plus mode is may allow some players to up the ante in regards to difficulty. Armed to the teeth with the best gear from the first playthrough, it may make the campaign and challenging areas more enjoyable!

As far as the 1.3.0 update goes, there will be bug fixes incoming as well, but not much else in terms of information was revealed. However, a production note from Monolith Soft director, Tetsuya Takahashi, did have a few words to say:

In the version 1.2.0 update, there is a bug in certain instances during and after Chapter 7 where a Blade linked with a specific Driver disappears from the Blade List (it only disappears from the list, the Blade itself does not disappear).

This is a bug that occurred during the process of adding the second playthrough element called “Advanced New Game Mode,” which will be implemented in the version 1.3.0 update planned for mid-February.

We apologize for the inconvenience for the about half a month that remains, but we are working hard on the development of the update, so please give us your patience. More information regarding the specific updated content of version 1.3.0 will be shared leading up to its release.”

An exact date has not been given yet, but as we approach mid-February more will be revealed. What do you think of the latest update as a Xenoblade Chronicles 2 New Game Plus mode?
