Xbox Game Pass Adds Guardians Of The Galaxy And 6 More (VIDEO)
As Microsoft maneuvers its big acquisition plans for Activision Blizzard (which remains a towering, industry-quaking deal, btw), Xbox seems to be taking it easy on the Game Pass side of things, with last month’s selections being slightly sparse when compared to the January just prior. While not horrible in the slightest, this lighter approach is continuing for March, with 7 new selections coming to the service across Cloud, Console, and PC.
The top of March isn’t particularly stacked, but mainly features the day-one debut of Far: Changing Tides, a previously-announced steampunk sailing title arriving today, March 1st. The occasion also brings the stunning Microsoft Flight Simulator to the Cloud version of Xbox Game Pass after the main game was added back in 2020. Next, March 3rd will complete the JRPG trilogy with the addition of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
Undoubtedly the biggest entry of the month, Square Enix’s action-packed Guardians of the Galaxy video game sees a surprise arrival on March 10th, followed by vibrant beat ’em up RPG Young Souls, and trippy point-and-click adventure Kentucky Route Zero. In addition, Lawn Mowing Simulator also finally sees its debut for Xbox One users after the title was delayed shortly after being announced during last month’s entries for Xbox Game Pass.
Continuing February’s trend of high-profile departures, four big games are set to leave Game Pass in the coming weeks. The likes of far-future slasher RPG Nier: Automata, wonderfully bizarre doggo puzzler Phogs!, high fantasy dungeon crawler Torchlight III, and action-heavy machine slayer The Surge 2 are all set to disappear on March 15th. As Xbox offers a 20% discount for games on the service, perhaps now might be the best time to take advantage.
