Xbox Cloud Gaming Beta For PC And iOS Devices Starts Soon

Xbox Cloud Gaming PC iOS Beta

Microsoft and Xbox’s cloud offerings have been quite popular in the gaming world, allowing players to take Xbox titles, and even a PlayStation one, on the go. That said, fans have not been able to play on all of the platforms they once thought they would be able to, but that looks to be changing soon as a beta for Xbox Cloud Gaming comes to PC and iOS devices this week.

Taking to the Xbox Wire, Vice President & Head of Product for Project xCloud Catherine Gluckstein detailed the limited beta that will be available for, well, a limited amount of people. According to Gluckstein, beginning on April 20th, invites will be sent out to select Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. Those who are invited to the beta will be able to test Xbox Cloud Gaming on Windows 10 PCs as well as Apple phones and tablets through web browsers.

“We’re launching xbox.com/play where invitees can play over 100 Xbox Game Pass titles through Edge, Google Chrome, or Safari,” Gluckstein said. “Offering cloud gaming through the browser and having a simplified, universal landing page presents a great opportunity to make cloud gaming approachable to more players in more places over time.”

They are sure to note that more invites for the Xbox Cloud Gaming beta on PC and iOS will be sent out on a continuous basis to players in all 22 of the supported countries. The current plan is to get through testing as quickly as they can so they can roll it out for all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members in the coming months. “This is an exciting step on our journey to bring gaming to the 3 billion players around the world,” Gluckstein said. “Thanks so much for helping us shape cloud gaming, from the early days in Preview to today, quite simply we couldn’t have done it without you.”
