Next Game From Wolfenstein: The New Order Dev is “F**king Bananas,” says Bethesda Boss
Since the release of Wolfenstein: The New Order in 2014, there has been widespread speculation as to when a sequel would be released, and what it would be like. Of course, that’s the usual response to any long-running beloved franchise. Thanks to Bethesda’s VP of marketing and PR Pete Hines, we now know that the next game from the Wolfenstein: The New Order dev is “f**king bananas.”

In a recent sit down with the Kinda Funny Gamescast, fans were able to ask questions and have Pete Hines answer them. One such fan took it upon themself to ask what’s on everyone’s mind, “How’s that new Wolfenstein coming?” Hines replied with the following about The New Order‘s dev’s next game:
“MachineGames has been hard at work on something, which I can tell you I have played. It is f**king bananas. And I can’t wait to show what it actually is.”
What does that even mean?! Well, we know what it means, but is it the game we all want, or something else entirely? It has been widely rumored that MachineGames is working towards a sequel to the 2014 hit. Of course, at an E3 Bethesda briefing in 2016, it was hinted at what the next title in the franchise might be.
A fake cmd.exe screen had flashed during a presentation and it contained a number of games previously released by Bethesda. However, one title stuck out like a sore thumb, and that was New_Colossus. Presumably titled The New Colossus, it had a release date of **-**-**. A lot of good that does us, right? Here, check out the mock screen for yourself:
Before Pete Hines said that the next game coming from The New Order dev is “f**king bananas,” Colossus was mentioned. Greg, the host of Kinda Funny Gamescast spoke of the above cmd.exe screen from E3 2016, but Hines played it off like he didn’t know what it was. You think you’re slick, Pete? Well, you are. Keep up the good work.
This, of course, is the latest update in the long-running line of hints and teases about the upcoming not-yet-confirmed sequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order. To add more fuel to the fire, Brian Bloom, the actor behind William “B.J.” Blazkowicz’s voice in The New Order and The Old Blood, teased fans back in October when he sat down with Two Left Sticks. He had this to say about the E3 cmd.exe screen and the future of the games:
I’ll be safe with this answer. If you look at Bethesda’s E3 2016 lineup there was a title hinted at in a cool way. It sparked a bit of wildfire. That subtle, very simple DOS language, going through the titles. Perhaps we’re working on that as we speak.”
All of this teasing has us excited for what’s next for MachineGames. Is The New Order dev working on the next Wolfenstein title? Are they working on a new IP? Let us know what you think down in the comments section. Of course, before you go down there, you should definitely check this out. E3 is going to be open to the public this year, so you better start saving your pennies. Maybe we’ll see you there!
