Stephen King fans may be dizzy with anticipation as not only one, but two of his stories are coming to the big screen. The classic horror film “IT” will be hitting theaters as a remake in September and in August another one of his works will be making its appearence. Two new Dark Tower TV spots are ramping up the tension and excitement as Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey square off as King’s iconic characters.

The full trailer last month details an all out war between the Gunslinger and The Man in Black. The Dark Tower teasers feature some new footage and while condensed, definitely capture the high tension between Protagonist and Antagonist. Outside of the leads, Tom Taylor, Katheryn Winnick, Dennis Haysbert, Jackie Earle Haley, and Abbey Lee will all be in the film as well.

The film was initially set to hit theaters in February but was pushed back. It was reported that the post-production process was ambitious and would have been incredibly expensive. Sony delayed the film in order to save on cost and it is hoped to also bring better quality, which can be seen in the Dark Tower teasers.

There have also been rumors of a Television show taking place. The show would be an adaption of “Wizard of Glass”, the fourth installment in King’s Dark Tower series. According to producer Ron Howard, the show is in development but is nowhere near certain. According to Howard, there is no commitment, but he felt it would work incredibly well with what they are planning for the films. The Dark Tower releases August 4th.
