THQ Nordic Acquires Entirety Of Biomutant And Developer Experiment 101

THQ Nordic, a video game publishing company known for such titles as ELEX and the upcoming Darksiders III and many others, has acquired the entirety of the Biomutant IP and developer now former indie developer Experiment 101. This may spell an even grander future in furthering the development of Biomutant or simple a collaboration for the two.

Known for its marvelous and enchanting environments first revealed this Summer at Gamescom, Biomutant offered a brand new world to explore. Based on demos presented at expos and other conventions, the IP has a lot to offer in terms of depth and gameplay. In fact, there’s a minimum play-time of 10 hours to beat the game as well as an impactful and dynamic narrative for players to interact with. There’s even a complete comprehensive character customization option.

Granted, acquisition of IP and developers is one of THQ Nordic’s strong suits and it certainly helps when there are such high-profile titles being published. Since there have been no mentions of an interest between Developer 101’s Biomutant and THQ Nordic, this agreement certainly comes out of left field. In a recently published press release, two branches of the publisher will be handling the progression of the game, namely the locations based in Karlstad, Sweden and Vienna, Austria.

With that being said, Biomutant will continue its path toward the 2018 release, but an exact date has not been defined yet. The game will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. What do you think about this well-known publisher taking Experiment 101 and Biomutant under its wings? Perhaps they’ll work together for the future IPs?
