The Mandalorian Official Xbox Controller Revealed

The Mandalorian Official Xbox Controller Revealed

Microsoft has announced an official ‘The Mandalorian’ Xbox controller, and our only question is why the heck did it take so long!? Revealed on the Microsoft store, the new product comes as a Wireless Xbox Controller & Xbox Pro Charging Stand Set for a total price of $169.99.

Now available for pre-order, The Mandalorian Xbox controller is described as being patterned after beskar steel, something lore buffs and fans of the Disney+ show recognize as being a rarity. “Explore the far reaches of the galaxy with this matching set in a Mandalore armor design,” the site’s description reads. “Enjoy custom button mapping, magnetic charging, and twice the wireless range.*

“Armor-clad in a Mandalorian pattern reminiscent of beskar steel, this Xbox Wireless Controller and Xbox Pro Charging Stand are a triumph of ergonomic design. Enjoy textured grips, custom button mapping, and up to twice the wireless range.* A magnetic contact system allows for one-handed play while you charge. Walk the Way of the Mandalore with technology forged together for a matchless fit.”

The Mandalorian controller unfortunately doesn’t feature the new d-pad or share button that comes standard on Xbox Series X/S controllers, though the controller is at least compatible with Microsoft’s new system. An interesting feature is that the controller seemingly touts “one-handed play” while charging it on the stand, though how that works is a bit of a mystery, not unlike the origins of The Child.

The Mandalorian Xbox controller is now available for pre-order with a release date of December 31, 2020. Interested in pre-ordering it? This is the way.
