The Ascent Receives Patch Addressing Stability, Co-op, And More
The Ascent was released earlier this month and allows players to experience a vast futuristic dystopia where characters are forced to live as literal corporate slaves in a world owned and controlled by The Ascent Group. The twin-stick shooter is quite enjoyable and provides players with a refreshing top-down experience as well as an intriguing story of what would happen in the wake of a corporation’s mysterious collapse. Now a new patch has arrived, aiming to fix various stability issues both in and out of co-op multiplayer.
One of the major issues that the patch tackles is the DX12 performance on PC as well as ray tracing, bringing the visual upgrade to the Microsoft Store and Game Pass version of the title where previously it was only available on Steam. Xbox Series X/S players are still out of luck and won’t receive the feature, but it is nice to see PC players across the board are able to make use of it. The patch also allows for “improved loading in of NPCs” on the PC side of The Ascent alongside various other bug fixes.
Some more general fixes also arrived, including stability fixes, removal of various one-time crash instances, weapon replication issues, and more. While the biggest fixes are for PC, latter fixes within the patch arrive for both console players as well as PC and also tackle problems involving Clients losing items or even progress after a Host disconnects or experiencing connection loss issues when not joining an ongoing game. There are plenty of other fixes affecting gameplay, translation, and more offering a significant amount of changes to the overall state of the game.
While the title is already enjoying a positive reception, the patch notes express that the developers are working hard to improve upon the game and welcome the feedback of fans to help make the game even more enjoyable. The Ascent is currently available for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Have you been enjoying the title so far?
