Terry Crews Volunteers His Talents for Potential Future Overwatch Hero

Since its release this past May, Blizzard’s hit First Person Shooter (FPS) Overwatch has gained quite the massive following. Overwatch offers a unique take on the classic player versus player (PvP) experience through itss indirect way of storytelling as well as itss extremely memorable roster of characters from which to choose from. The most recent addition to this roster is the hacker Sombra, who was just added to the game following the most recent update. Blizzard has not yet announced their next addition to Overwatch but there is a lot of speculation going around the internet. One such theory that has gained considerable momentum is the possible addition of the referenced but not yet seen legendary hero Doomfist.

Doomfist has been alluded to throughout many of the Overwatch shorts that Blizzard has released as well as Doomfist’s Powerfist being the focal point of the Overwatch launch teaser. At this point in time however the enigma surrounding this alluded to figure has fans asking, “Who is this Doomfist?” Well we may not have much on the character himself but the Overwatch subreddit has a few ideas for what he should sound like.

Recently on the Overwatch subreddit, reddit user SleepyRicky started a thread post recommending that actor Terry Crews play Doomfist should Blizzard ever decide to add him to the roster. In an exciting, yet surprising, turn of events Terry Crews himself posted a simple yet exciting response:

Even though at this point everything is 100% speculation, Terry Crews voicing Doomfist at some point is not outside the realm of possibilities for the future of Overwatch. Just recently over the past couple months Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan stated that Blizzard had two new heroes in the works for the game, and we know that one of them was in fact Sombra. Which poses the possibility that perhaps the next hero could be Doomfist.

As for Mr. Crews, we can probably safely say that his hype on the subject is no empty promise. Crews has quite the following on social media, as would be expected from a star of his stature now days, but has just recently won over the favor of the gaming community by sharing his love of video games with his followers. Mr. Crews even showed his support for Overwatch recently when he posted a personal recommendation for people to participate in Overwatch’s free-to-play days this past weekend.

As fans of Overwatch, gaming, and Terry Crews you can bet that the team here at DFTG will be keeping our eyes open for any future news on the subject. Until Blizzard makes anything official we’ll all just have to keep watching and hope that the developers over at Blizzard take notice of this awesome opportunity. Meanwhile we’d love to have you stick around and check out what Blizzard has in store for Overwatch this holiday season. Until next time remember,”We can make a difference. The world needs us now more than ever. Are you with me?”
