Telltale’s Walking Dead “Actively Working” To Finish Final Season (VIDEO)
The imminent closure of Telltale Games effectively halted all projects from the adventure developer, notably including the current run of episodes for the Telltale’s The Walking Dead. The touted Final Season of the story-driven zombie game began last month and was to conclude after a total of four episodes. However, as the game’s entire creative team has been laid off, the journey of protagonist Clementine seems to have reached a premature end.
As it turns out, the end may not be as set in stone as many once thought. Telltale, in their first post since announcing closure, have expressed interest in finishing the remaining episodes of The Walking Dead, citing collaboration with “multiple potential partners” to make the conclusion a reality. Telltale admits a chance dealings could fall through, but nonetheless affirms they are “actively working” to get episodes 3 and 4 out there “in some form.”

While we can’t make any promises today, we are actively working towards a solution that will allow episodes 3 and 4 to be completed and released in some form. The phrasing of “in some form” could be interpreted to mean a number of things, but it might likely amount to a limited release either on consoles, PC, or mobile. As for developers who could potentially work on the project, Devolver Digital seems pretty possible after throwing their hat in to pick up Telltale’s cancelled Stranger things game. Of course, it could ultimately go to someone else or not even get made entirely. The latter would be a real shame considering The Walking Dead series is what began Telltale’s success back in 2012.
Episode 1 of The Walking Dead: The Final Season is out now for Android, iOS, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One. Episode 2 titled “Suffer the Children” released today for the same platforms.
