Pokemon GO Reveals New Mythical Pokemon – Meltan (VIDEO)

A new Pokemon Go discovery has both Professor Oak and Willow on their toes, and even Trainers all over social media! Last week, sightings of a mysterious creature with a squishy silver body and a golden hex-nut shaped head with what looks to be an eye floating independently were recorded. However, something strange would occur. When caught, players wound up “capturing” a Ditto, which many presumed to be a glitch. According to the professors, there’s more to this little creature than meets the eye. It’s actually a mythical Pokemon named Meltan!

Believe it or not, the transformation from Meltan to Ditto is not a mistake on Niantic’s part. In a short video, both professors dive a little further into the history of the adorable “Nutto,” but there’s more field research to be done before all is revealed. Check it out below:

It’s easy to see why this mythical Pokemon chooses to transform itself into a Ditto, seeing as their body shapes are similar and look pretty amorphous. Obviously, save for the golden hex-nut face. It’s a whopping 17.6 pounds of a Steel-type pocket monster at a petite size of 8 inches (20.32 cm). Here’s the official announcement for Meltan:

What’s this? Trainers, thanks to your field reports, we can now confirm that a brand-new species of Pokémon has just been discovered! Introducing Meltan, the Hex Nut Pokémon! Professor Oak and Professor Willow have teamed up to research this mysterious new species of Pokémon, and what they’ve uncovered is pretty interesting. Take a look at their findings so far, and let us know in the comments if you’ve encountered Meltan in the wild!

Additionally, these sightings via Pokemon Go is “somehow key to meeting this curious new creature in Pokemon Let’s Go” game! This was certainly an ingenious way to cross-promote properties and keep Trainers on the edge of their seat.
