Swery Reveals Gameplay Trailer for New Murder Mystery Cat RPG ‘The Good Life’ (VIDEO)

The Good Life is about to be one hell of a ride. Based on the very first trailer revealed by Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro at a PAX West 2017 panel for his latest undertaking. Players get to assume the role of Naomi, a photographer from New York determined to repay her pile of debt. So what better place to begin than the “happiest town in the world”? Set in a small town in rural England called Rainy Woods, Naomi works odd jobs to sustain herself financially, but it becomes quite obvious that most of the money is spent on drowning out her sorrows with “drinKING” at the pub.

It’s either that, turn into a cat and explore the nook and crannies of the town, or ride sheep like horses as a means of transportation. There are also a diverse crowd of characters to meet in your adventures within The Good Life including the “Milk Delivery Cat”, “Alcoholic Priest”, and “Handsome Nurse”. Check out the trailer below:

Based on early knowledge and footage of The Good Life, there wasn’t much in ways of details to reveal how the story would resemble a Swery-style game aside from the promise to do so by the man himself. However, just as Naomi finds her tempo amongst the sheep-riding and cat transformations, she stumbles upon the corpse of a young woman who was struck down by a sword. The only evidence that may steer the main character in the right direction are the white flowers that surround the woman’s head and the singular, bloody stalk she holds in her clutches.

The Good Life murder-mystery RPG also includes character customization available for Naomi in human and cat form and classic role-playing elements like a stats level-up system. The game includes a story mission, perfect photo opportunities, a customizable camera, several exciting part-time job options, and it’s all inspired by the American TV show Twin Peaks. The game expected to release in late 2019 for PC and PlayStation 4.
