Action Game The Surge from Lords of the Fallen Developers Coming This Spring (VIDEO)
Deck 13, developer of the action RPG Lords of the Fallen (released in 2014) has announced the release date for their latest game The Surge. The announcement arrived on January 26 with a new trailer that introduces some of the world and story for the new title. You can watch the video, “Bad day at the office”, below:
The trailer for The Surge, and the game itself, according to this gameplay video, is set in a facility owned by CREO corporation. The company is at the forefront of helping change the world and Warren is starting his first day there. While applying his exo-suit, however, something goes wrong and our plucky hero Warren is hurt in the process.
Freshly recruited as an augmented worker, Warren’s first day coincides with a catastrophic event deep inside CREO, during the routine surgical operation meant to graft, through flesh and bone, the exo-suit required for the company’s employees. This disastrous event marks the first in a series of brutal events, turning this first day at CREO into a hellish nightmare of robots gone haywire, crazed employees with fried cranial implants, and artificial intelligence all wanting Warren dead.
In his suit and armed with a pickax like weapon (at least to start), Warren must use his newfound strength and speed to survive the disaster at CREO. The game not only features a targeting system that lets players focus on weak points, but also allows them to perform finishing moves that can be used to gain new “blueprints” for items that can be crafted later. Though this may have been a bad time for Warren to advance his career, it looks like a good time for the players!
The Surge is expected to be released in May 2017. Focus Home Interactive, the company behind Dontnod’s Vampyr, Cyanide’s Call of Cthulhu, and Farming Simulator 17 will be in charge of publication. The game will be available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC upon release!
