Week-Long Double XP Event Starts this Weekend for Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Infinite Warfare

Double XP

Another Double XP week is taking place in Call of Duty starting today, and will include both Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered. The announcement for the event was spotted on Activision’s Twitter account, advertising that the event runs for a whole week for Infinite Warfare players. Normally, Double XP events last only for a weekend but this time, Activision is giving players a chance to really take advantage of their gaming time to level up as quickly as possible. Check out the Tweet below, and see for yourself!

Activision is also offering Double XP for Modern Warfare Remastered starting today, but there are a few key differences between the two. For Modern Warfare, the event is only going on for about three days, instead of a whole week, and instead of the XP affecting both regular and weapon XP like in Infinite Warfare, the event only applies to regular XP for Modern Warfare.

In either case, this is a generous gift from developers as Activision readies to release their first DLC pack for Infinite Warfare. Titled Sabotage, the newest DLC pack will be made available to gamers on January 31st, only a few days away, and comes packed full of gaming goodies including four new maps to explore, and five playable characters, one of which includes Kevin Smith wielding an ax to take on zombies.

Kevin Smith, you say? Zombies?

Oh right, the new DLC map comes with its obligatory zombie map and this time its set in the woods during a 90’s themed rave! Titled Rave in the Redwoods, this map is hopping with action, dancing the night away and slaughtering zombies and monsters of all kinds as you fight it out to survive. You can see the trailer for the zombie map pack here, and let’s just say, this thing looks like it’s going to be a blast. Call of Duty’s Double XP event is running hot right now, so make sure you sign on as soon as possible to take advantage of the extra points while you can. The event ends on February 3rd at 10AM EST, while Modern Warfare’s event lasts until January 30th, 10AM EST.

So what do you think of the announcement from Activision? Are you going to be taking a chance to snag those extra XP points this week? Are you going to download Sabotage when the DLC goes live on the 31st? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, and game on!
