Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Shrek Mod Is Love And Life (VIDEO)

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Shrek Mod

Fighting games have gained a passionate community, and one shared aspect that excites many about fighting games is the potential for crossover appeal. However, even with big fan petitions like the one to bring Shaggy from Scooby Doo to Mortal Kombat 11, some crossover inclusions fail to come to fruition. Thus has been the case with numerous internet meme enthusiasts that have wanted to see Shrek the ogre come to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

While it will likely never happen officially, a new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Shrek mod hopefully will bring love and life to those wanting to see Shrek settle it in Smash.

Modder Hefty recently shared footage of their Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Shrek mod creation on the BeardBear YouTube channel. The mod adds a new layer to Ultimate by replacing Ganondorf’s physical model with that of Shrek, as seen in the hit Dreamworks animated film.

The mod is fairly minimal, so the friend of Donkey uses the same moveset, dialogue and fighter icon as Ganondorf. However, given their shared bulky frames, one can see Ganondorf’s physicality as moves Shrek could utilize in a fight.

Shrek has been modded into Smash Bros games before, such as the Wii U entry in the series, but at least Super Smash Bros. can now call itself truly Ultimate. Now if the modders could only make Donkey an Assist Trophy and put Smash Mouth songs in the game’s tracklist, all that glitters in the game could truly be gold. After all, only shooting stars break the mold.
