Stardew Valley’s Newest Update Might Hit Consoles Very Soon
Giving players a social farming sim experience unlike any other, Stardew Valley was recently received its long-touted 1.5 Update, introducing such innovations as new NPCs, quests, and even co-op split-screen. As the big content debut rolled out on PC last week, many players are also certainly eyeing when consoles will also enjoy the fruits of the game’s latest update. Well, according to creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, the wait won’t appear to be a long one as Update 1.5 may actually arrive as soon as January.
The 1.5 update will be coming to consoles early next year. It’s possible it could be ready by the end of January but I can’t guarantee that yet. Mobile has no release estimate yet.

As revealed in a new post on Twitter, Barone announced the latest update is currently slated to arrive in early 2021, with a release possibly arriving as early as “by the end of January.” However, he noted that such a quick turnaround for consoles wasn’t entirely guaranteed, leaving the door open for a later date if development lasts longer than anticipated. In addition to home platforms, the developer also commented on the mobile version of Stardew Valley, confirming “no release estimate” exists as of yet, but suggesting the port was nonetheless in active development.

A potential January release window is sure to be a welcome idea among fans, especially as it’s a significantly shorter wait than for the 1.5 Update itself. In the meantime, ConcernedApe looks to have plenty on his plate with the completion of these various ports as well as subsequent bug fixes for the update. The first of these new patches went live for PC just a few days ago, addressing a number of lingering issues, with more expected to come out as bugs are reported by the Stardew Valley community. Of course, he also has that “secret” unannounced project in the works, with the dev teasing as much on social media alongside a potential reveal for some time in 2021.
Thanks, but I’m not actually involved w/ that game… It’s a common misconception. I have my own, unannounced secret project! Maybe I will reveal it in 2021
