Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Won’t Feature Multiplayer Or Microtransactions
During EA Play last Summer, Electronic Arts revealed a brand new Star Wars franchise video game hitting the market. Despite the stormy reception and following backlash of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 microtransactions, a notable percentage of the community has high hopes for the next entry. After hearing Respawn Entertainment’s involvement in its development, the addition of KOTOR and Fallout: New Vegas writer Chris Avellone.
There’s been huge data leaks and official information from those involved in its creation that teases a killer new game from Respawn and EA. Reasonably enough, players are wary of EA’s overall influence on Jedi: Fallen Order. Despite that, the developers are stoked to reveal the game. Producer Blair Brown headed to Twitter to bestow upon the community fantastic news:

Suffice to say, some Twitter followers were relieved to hear but hesitant to believe. Understandably so. As grandiose a statement as that is, it’s unlikely Brown is lying. Knowing how vehemently opposed Star Wars fans are to microtransactions, going back on their word could very well ruin future releases. There’s always reason to believe that the influence of big money will change this in Jedi: Fallen Order, despite what developers want for the good of the fanbase.
Twitter wasn’t hesitant to show their distrustful gaze, of course:

Even EA’s official Star Wars Twitter page had a positive reaction to share:
