Spyro Reignited Trilogy Gameplay Highlights Spyro 2’s Hurricos Level (VIDEO)

Spyro Reignited Trilogy Gameplay

Next month, Spyro fans, both old and new, will be able to experience the first three games in the purple dragon’s franchise in a brand new way. The Spyro Reignited Trilogy has promised updated versions of the classic PlayStation Spyro games that will take full advantage of modern gaming technology. The gameplay footage seen so far seems quite promising, yet true to the original forms of the Spyro games. Now, Activision has released a special Spyro Reignited Trilogy gameplay trailer focused on the iconic Hurricos level from Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage.

Activision has released the new Spyro Reignited Trilogy gameplay trailer on YouTube. In the video, producer Lou Studdert guides players through the Hurricos level from the second Spyro game, as included with the Reignited Trilogy. Hurricos is home to the friendly Electrolls, who welcome Spyro. However, Hurricos is under a big lightning storm, which has enabled the Gear Grinders to take over their land and imprison many Electrolls. One of these Electrolls is even holding the Talisman, which is needed to complete the level.

Lou points out many of the graphical improvements included with this remade version of the Hurricos level. Updated gaming platforms have enabled a wider variety of lighting and texturing effects, making the storm’s impact on the game’s shadows and lighting more dynamic. There is also room now for more details, like the Gear Grinders having their logo on the back of their jackets.

The game continues to only further sell gamers on its value and nostalgia-fulfillment as it nears its release date. Hopefully the game doesn’t get burned by the big fall rush of other titles coming. Spyro Reignited Trilogy is set to arrive on September 21st for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
