Sony Creates Giant PlayStation 4 Controller in Celebration of Sales (VIDEO)
Sony has done it again. Producing larger than life content for fans everywhere, the mega-company has gone out of their way to celebrate the successes of their developers in ways only Sony can. With awesome titles announced over the past month, and games like Death Stranding coming in the next year or so, it’s no wonder Sony execs decided to flaunt their pride. How have they accomplished this feat? By creating a giant PlayStation 4 controller that really works!
Okay, so the functionality of the controller is somewhat limited as the joysticks don’t work and we really don’t know why they decided to create this giant replica. Still, the fact that this massive accessory works at all is astounding. Installed at the Sony Interactive Entertainment building, this giant controller is actually hooked up to a PlayStation system, which allows gamers to play titles like PaRappa the Rapper. Viewers can see the giant controller in action in the video below:
This may seem like a rather silly accomplishment at face-value (no one from corporate has really admitted why the controller was created just yet), but the creation of this giant PlayStation 4 controller can still be seen as a testament to the major successes of Sony over the past year. While the company might have been briefly passed up by Xbox in sales late last year, it looks like Sony has definitely caught up with the competition once again. With the offering of some accessories, such as the Sony Platinum Wireless Headset, which came out in January, it isn’t hard to believe that the deficit in profits from the company were quickly made up over the past few months.
Thoughts on the giant PlayStation 4 controller? Has Sony outdone themselves by creating this massive, working accessory?
