Silent Hill Art Director Announces New Game In Development
There have been spots of news on Silent Hill lately, but not in the way most fans of the horror series likely expected. From the themed slot machine announcement from Konami to mods and even the domain going up for sale, suffice it to say the future of the Silent Hill franchise has been uncertain. If there were to be a spell of hope, the art director for the series recently revealed that he’s working on a new game. Masahiro Ito said on Twitter:
About that, I can tell you nothing yet. ( ´•ᴗ•)

Shortly after the announcement, Ito posted the original image below. It’s certainly Silent Hills-esque. Could the number 204 or any of the letting in the background hint at anything? Perhaps he’s just teasing fans, or this could indicate a new horror game. Then again, there’s a possible hint in his words: “I hope the title won’t be cancelled.”

As of now, Ito doesn’t work exclusively for Konami and currently operates as a freelance artist in background, art direction, background design, and more. Despite that, Ito’s Twitter icon is of pyramid head. He’s obviously proud of the work he’s done for the Silent Hill franchise, so here’s to hoping there’s more on the horizon for the series in 2020 and beyond.
