Konami Announces Silent Hill Slot Machine
Read that title. Read it again. Unfortunately, you’re not making it up or having a hallucination. Fans who’ve been waiting for another Silent Hill title to be announced certainly weren’t expecting a game anytime soon, but they likely were not anticipating this announcement from Konami either. Despite the recognition they’ve received in the games industry thank to properties such as Silent Hill, Metal Gear, Contra, and Castlevania, Konami continues to pursue success with the casino industry.
Scheduled for showcase at the upcoming Global Gaming Expo (G2E) in Las Vegas this week, Konami announced a slot machine cabinet for Silent Hill, a renown horror franchise that spans video games, movies, and more. This will be the public’s first time setting their sights and hands on this release. Check it out below:
“This cabinet is a striking combination of sleek entertainment, premium packaging, and player comfort, backed by a rich library of original titles,” Konami’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer Tom Jingoli said in a press release. “Everything, including its shape, screens, betting surface, and available merchandising, has been engineered to maximize both player experience and operational results. This latest cabinet is a first glimpse at great things to come from Konami.”
Earlier this year, Konami renewed their license to keep Silent Hill within their grasp. That in and of itself isn’t telling of their intentions with their renown horror series, but here’s to looking toward the horizon! Who knows, perhaps there’s more to come in the near future? We can only hope.
