Shin Megami Tensei V Release Window Revealed With New Trailer (VIDEO)

Shin Megami Tensei V Release Window Revealed With New Trailer (VIDEO)

While Atlus’ Persona franchise has dominated the headlines in recent years thanks to the release of arguably the best entry point for the series, Persona 5, the Japanese developer has by no means forgotten about its progenitor series, Shin Megami Tensei. To that end, Nintendo and Atlus have announced that Shin Megami Tensei V will be releasing at some point next year, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

Atlus took to its official YouTube channel today to unveil a brand new trailer for Shin Megami Tensei V. The trailer confirms once again that the Shin Megami Tensei series offers a decidedly different experience than that of the Persona series, showing viewers a world where “order itself has crumbled and chaos reigns over all.” As such, the tag line “In a world without its creator, which path shall you choose?” seems fitting. Check out the trailer below:

While we’re still roughly a year out from the game’s arrival, there’s certainly a silver lining to be had. Though Persona games typically have separate release dates depending on region, Shin Megami Tensei V will instead have a singular worldwide launch date, with the game sporting the option for both English and Japanese audio tracks depending on preference. This new way of doing things will make a lot of Persona-loving folks happy, especially since we’re still waiting for any sort of confirmation that Persona 5 Scramble will be headed West.

Shin Megami Tensei V is slated to release at some point next year exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
