Rocket League Reveals Stranger Things Halloween Crossover Event (VIDEO)
Rocket League is about to get a little…stranger. Psyonix announced via trailer on YouTube that their Haunted Hallows event will be available on October 14th. Players have loved Rocket League’s events as they’ve been replete with cool pop-culture crossovers. We’ve gotten everything from Batmobiles, Dom Torretto’s Mustang from the Fast and Furious series, and even a Macho Man Randy Savage bandana. This time though, the proceedings look like they’re going to be a bit spookier than we’re used to seeing in Rocket League.
Rocket League’s Haunted Hallows event will prominently feature content from Netflix’s Stranger Things. Players will get to add paint jobs inspired by things like Chief Hopper’s Hawaiian shirt, Dustin’s ball cap, some Starcourt rims and even a new twist on an existing arena. Take a look at the trailer below:
Obviously seeing some rad new paint jobs and other accouterments for your cars is awesome, but the new Upside down version of Farmstead is the real star here. Everything from the wood paneling on the sides to the giant barn seems authentically Indiana. The map will even feature an encounter with the show’s horrifying Mind-Flayer monster! While it’s unknown whether or not the Mind-Flayer’s presence effects gameplay at all, we’d recommend keeping someone close by in case the proceedings get a little too spooky. You can play the Haunted Hallows event in Rocket League from October 14th-November 11th.
