Resident Evil 8 Rumored To Be In Development

Resident Evil 8

Gamers everywhere have been putting some serious time into the recently released Resident Evil 2 “remake,” reliving a bit of their past while also avoiding the terrifying Tyrant that just doesn’t know how to give you up. With the massively successful launch of RE2, however, many are wondering what’s next. That said, rumors point to Resident Evil 8.

Capcom hasn’t gone into detail about what their future plans are for the popular horror franchise, but a recent string of tweets to come from Evil VR on Twitter suggests that Resident Evil 8 is already in development. “From what I can gather, the setting for 8 will take place in an recently-abandoned island where the secret laboratory is located,” they said in the first tweet. “The story so far is to uncover the truth behind the creation of Eveline and more of similar bio-weapons.”

Of course, it is important to remember that all of this is a rumor at this point and you should keep the salt nearby at all times. However, Evil VR has relayed some reliable information in the past, so it is certainly worth keeping an eye on this Resident Evil 8 rumor. That said, it wouldn’t be surprising if it were true, as Capcom has already stated they have plans for what’s next, and they said that back in 2017.

In addition to all of this, they also mentioned that Capcom has no interest in remaking Resident Evil 4, 5, or 6, and that the primary focus is currently on Resident Evil 8 and the remake of 3. Again, keep the salt handy, but it will sure be interesting to see exactly what the studio is working on. Here’s to hoping we learn more in the very near future.
