Red Dead Redemption 2 Possibly Getting VR Support

Red Dead Redemption 2 currently has two different perspective players can use, first and third person. Now it seems the wild Western title might be getting VR capabilities as well.

Over the last few weeks, dedicated fans have been combing through the game’s companion app files to find a plethora of new and exciting information. While a variety of hints and rumors have come about in the hopes that the title will see a PC port, it seems that through the use of dataming fans may have stumbled upon the possibility of the game receiving VR support.

One of the various recently reported findings mentions the term “Oculus.” It isn’t hard to imagine that this refers to the popular VR headset called the Oculus Rift.

There was a barebones version of Rockstar’s L.A. Noire for the HTC Vive. It is possible that Red Dead Redemption 2 can see the arrival of something similar through the Oculus Rift and perhaps even the HTC Vive later down the road. However Rockstar doesn’t seem to have much of an interest in Virtual Reality at the moment, making it highly improbable that fans will be seeing the latest Red Dead title come to the next generation gaming devices. This has led to speculation that perhaps the Red Dead Online feature will be the one seen in the world of VR.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Would you like to see Rocktar’s latest and greatest Western action-adventure on a VR headset?
