Red Dead Redemption 2 Players Launch Petition To Pet Cats (VIDEO)
When Rockstar Games released Red Dead Redemption 2 late last month, the developer made sure the game had a little something for everyone to enjoy. Well, apparently not everyone. It has come to the attention of a select group of players that, while wandering dogs can be pet, cats cannot, so of course a petition has been launched to rectify this injustice.
Already up on Change.org, the petition calls for Rockstar Games to make it so that players can pet cats much in the same way they are currently capable of petting dogs. “We can’t pet cats in Red Dead Redemption 2 but we can pet dogs,” the petition begins. “Wtf is this animalracism?” For those of you that have yet to play Red Dead Redemption 2, a YouTube video shows a player petting a dog for a few leisurely minutes, which is something these petitioners would love to do with their feline friends.
Here’s the ‘personal story’ that accompanies the petition, which at the time of writing has 442 signatures:
“One day, I was walking in Saint-Denis and I saw a kitty. Wanting to pet this cute little guy, I crouched to see if I could pet him like I usually do to every dogs I see (even during missions, robbery, etc) but for some reason, I got triggered by the fact that you cannot pet a mf cat in this game but you can pet all the dogs instead. I think this is bullshit. For 120 bucks, I want to pet a cat if I want to instead of getting wanted cause a lady decided to cross the street while I’m trying to drift with my horse at 20mph in the city during the day.”
It is unknown whether or not Rockstar Games will actually do anything, as cats are considered to be small animals, which players typically don’t interact with. Still, anything is possible, and if the petition gains enough traction the developer may make it happen.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
