While it didn’t make an appearance at the launch of the game, Red Dead Redemption 2’s online experience recently added in Rockstar’s vision of a battle royale game mode. Though it is an interesting addition to the incredibly popular genre it isn’t without its issues. Thankfully, the developers don’t plan on letting it simply ride out its days as is.

A recent blog post from Rockstar explains that the developers have isolated a number of matchmaking issues within Gun Rush, their take on the popular PvP mode. A new patch hopes to address some of these with small fixes, while some of the larger issues will require more time before a permanent solution can be implemented. The hope is that these smaller tweaks will at least help generate fuller lobbies to give players the best experience possible while the larger, more permanent solutions arrive in future updates.

Also in their blog post, they mentioned some freebies. Rockstar hasn’t been too shy about giving fans plenty of the game’s premium currency in thanks for their participation throughout the beta period of Red Dead Online and the latest update is no exception. Players who actively play between Friday January 25 and Sunday January 27 will be awarded a total of 5 gold bars for their efforts. Players should be seeing their free gold arrive into their accounts by January 29th.
