New Red Dead Redemption 2 Details Show “Emotional Depth” of the Story
On November 17th at an MKM Partners research firm event, Take Two Interactive’s CEO Strauss Zelnick brings new light to the general feel of Red Dead Redemption 2. The release of the highly anticipated announcement and trailer for the sequel received a much grander reaction than the company had hoped for and they were pleasantly surprised at the exceptional response from fans. Overall Take Two Interactive and Rockstar Games are delighted at the enormous amount of anticipation displayed for the open world successor to Red Dead Redemption.
As to the overall feel of what the sequel is going to offer, Zelnick has alluded to an “incredible amount of emotional depth” and an optimistic take on the untamed 19th century American frontier.
The conventional wisdom [with Red Dead Redemption 1] was of course that a western wouldn’t work. We took a different point of view, which is that very occasionally do westerns capture the imagination of the public. When we launched Red Dead, it did. And those times were right for that. And I think the times are right for a big, sprawling, optimistic view of America again–and that’s not meant to be cute.
With all the monotony of the day to day, it’s easy to see things as bleak and miserable. However it looks like Rockstar Games is giving their fans a way to find optimism even during what some would say are troubling times.
