Prince of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake Has Been Delayed

Some say that time is like a river, though that river has seemingly slowed to a crawl for the majority of this year due to, among other things, the global pandemic. The latest casualty of COVID-19 is none other than the upcoming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, with Ubisoft recently announcing that the title has been delayed by two months.

Ubisoft recently took to Twitter to announce the delay, confirming that the Prince of Persia remake will now be releasing on March 18, 2021 instead of its originally announced release date of of January 21. In perhaps the most relatable and human thing Ubisoft has done this year, the publisher chalked it up to the fact that 2020 “has been a year like no other,” and as such the team needs more time to work on the game.

As for our beloved Prince, he may be wearing a new face following the release of the upcoming remake. A recent report has suggested that the Prince of Persia series will be getting its second reboot, with the leaker estimating that the first entry will come out at some point between 2023 and 2024. At least there won’t be anymore COVID-19 by then to delay another title even further, right? Right?

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is now slated to release on March 18, 2021 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
