Pokémon Reveals Chivalrous New Farfetch’d Evolution ‘Sirfetch’d’ (VIDEO)
Pokémon has captivated audiences for over two decades, and the upcoming Pokemon Sword and Shield look like they will carry forth well the legacy of Pikachu and friends. The new Galar region is promising many new and exciting features, but perhaps none of which have elicited quite a response from fans like the new Galarian forms of Pokémon. New looks for favorite Pokémon like Weezing have delighted many with their dapper styles that pay homage to the real world United Kingdom that the Galar region is based off of. Now, a new Farfetch’d Galarian verison has been revealed that celebrates ye olde gentleman knights of olde.
Nintendo released a new video highlighting the Farfetch’d Galarian version on the official Youtube account. The Galarian version’s name is Sirfetch’d, and has white feathers instead of the traditional brown feathers seen from the Farfetch’d that made its debut in the Kanto region. Instead of the leek melee weapon that the normal Farfetch’d wields, Sirfetch’d boasts a lengthy leek lance and a shield made from vegetation. The name and design pay tribute to the knights from medieval UK history, but also the titles of these new games.
Some artwork of Sirfetch’d seem to confirm that it is the pixelated Pokémon that was recently teased by Nintendo. It should be noted that Sirfetch’d is a Pokemon Sword exclusive, but it can be transferred to Pokémon Shield. In both games, Sirfetch’d will also be able to use a special move called Meteor Assault. There’s no word yet if there will be a similar Galarian form exclusive to Pokémon Shield, but one can reasonably expect to see an equal of some sort to knock Sirfetch’d off his high horse in a joust of popularity.
