Pokemon Go Valentine’s Day Event Celebrates Love With Eggs

pokemon go valentine's day

The holiday of love, chocolate, and anatomically incorrect hearts arrived just in time for the long weekend and Niantic’s got a sweet little surprise for Pokemon Go players. Even if you’re flying solo this weekend, living the best Pokemon Trainer life with a partner, or with friends – there’s plenty to do and catch.

Beginning February 14th at 8:00 AM to February 17th at 10:00 PM local time, trainers can find new research tasks, plenty of opportunities to each eggs, encounter a surplus of pink Pokemon, and participate in a raid. Audino and Alomomola will make their official debut on Pokemon Go as well and will make residence on the mobile game even after the Valentine’s Day event is over.

Thanks to the friendly folks over at Prima Games, these are the Pokemon Go research tasks Trainers can tackle:

  • Evolve a Hoppip – Cherubi Encounter
  • Defeat Team Rocket Go Grunts – Chansey Encounter
  • Catch 5 Slowpoke or Whismur – 1,000 Stardust
  • Hatch 3 Eggs – Lickitung Encounter
  • Catch 14 Luvdisc – Alomomola Encounter

On February 15th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, you can catch Lickitung during 4-star raids featuring the Body Slam move. Trainers can receive up to five raid passes at no charge. Keep in mind though – you can only hold one at a time, so build a strategy! You never know, perhaps a shiny version is in your fortune. In addition to all the in-game lovelies, you can check out the official Pokemon Go Twitter page for adorable Valentine’s Day cards to print out and hand to loved ones.
