PlayStation Play At Home Returns With Four Months Of Free Games
Though Sony already offers a set of “free” games for PlayStation Plus subscribers, Sony has also given away freebies to non-members as part of its Play At Home Initiative. Presented as a means of making the COVID-19 pandemic a tiny bit more bearable, the special giveaway now appears to be returning for 2021 as well, but in a significantly more souped-up capacity.

As unveiled on the PlayStation Blog, Play At Home is officially coming back starting March 1st, bringing with it a total of four months of “PlayStation games and entertainment.” Less than a week away (at the time of writing), all PS5 and PS4 users will be able to snag Insomniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank PS4 completely free of charge for a limited time, from March 1st (8 pm PST) to March 31st (8 pm PDT). Sony confirmed that “once you redeem the game, it will be yours to keep.”
As a bonus for the month of March, Sony is leveraging the Funimation and Wakanim to give away three free months of anime-streaming goodness. Also available for a limited time, this offer will begin going live on March 25th for Funimation users in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, or Wakanim users in Western and Northern Europe. New members are set to get the best deal of all, as they can take advantage of the service’s standard 14-day trial on top of the 90-day Play At Home freebie.
More goodies are assured to arrive for PlayStation users over the next four months, with Sony confirming they’ll “share more details on free games and entertainment offers” over the next few weeks. “I think we’ve got a great mix of games and entertainment offers lined up, and I hope this news made your day just a little bit brighter,” Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan expressed in the blog. “We consider ourselves privileged to bring you this entertainment, and we are very grateful to be a part of your lives.”
