First Photo of Alphonse Revealed For Live-Action Fullmetal Alchemist Movie
Since the announcement and subsequent new photos for the upcoming live-action Fullmetal Alchemist movie were revealed to fans everywhere, excitement to see this much-loved series come to life has been high. With several long months to wait for the release of the film in Japan, Warner Bros. has given anxious viewers another glimpse into the upcoming film’s world. This time, film developers have decided to reveal a closer look at one of the main characters of the plot, Alphonse, in his metal-suited glory! Check it out:
The reveal of the newest image was posted on Twitter, revealing that the younger brother would be created entirely in CGI to capture his mannerisms as we know them from the manga and anime series. Alphonse, after having his soul trapped in a suit of armor following a failed transmutation attempt to bring back his mother, follows his brother Edward as they search for the Philosopher’s Stone in their attempts to undo the damage they caused themselves years prior. We have yet to find out who will be voicing Alphonse in the movie, but if they keep with the show’s precedence, it should be the same actor they choose to play the human counterpart of the more innocent Elric brother.
The first official trailer for the upcoming film was revealed on the Warner Bros. Twitter account back in November, promising an exciting, gritty, and heartfelt story. In the trailer, we saw that Edward would be played by Japanese pop singer and actor Ryosuke Yamada. We also got a brief look at Alphonse in action, though this new photo really promises that the character will definitely be kept true to the manga and anime we all love so much. It’s going to be a long ten months until the film is released in Japan, and an even longer wait as we find out when the film will come to the US, so keep those fingers crossed for some good news for State-side fans in the near future!
