Persona 5 Scramble Finally Confirmed For Western Release

Persona 5 Scramble Finally Confirmed For Western Release

It’s been almost a year since the original announcement of Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. The title has since released in Japan, though until now there’s been no word on whether or not the game would receive a Western release. Thankfully, it appears that such a reveal will be coming sooner rather than later, as a Western release for the game has been confirmed by developer Koei Tecmo.

The news comes by way of Persona Central, which reported that a Western release for Persona 5 Scramble was confirmed in a recent financial report from Koei Tecmo. The company – which collaborated with Atlus to develop the game – listed Persona 5 Scramble as one of its future releases for both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, with the release region specifically referring to North America and Europe. For those unfamiliar with Persona 5 Scramble, the game acts as a sequel to the original Persona 5, featuring decidedly different gameplay mechanics from the original. The combat is not unlike Dynasty Warriors-style gameplay, with each Phantom Thief utilizing their own weapons and Personas to do battle.

The potential for a Western release of Persona 5 Scramble was still up in the air at the time Persona 5 Royal released stateside. A survey for the game included a question asking if fans would purchase the sequel were it to be released in the West. Thankfully, it appears the developer received enough positive responses to make it happen.

Persona 5 Scramble is slated to release at some point in the future for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
