Payday 3 Development In “Design Phase,” Using Unreal Engine

Payday 3 development update

It’s been seven years since Payday 2 arrived, and while fans may still be jumping in to get in on the glorious action, many have been wondering about another installment. We’ve already known about a third entry, but the developers have now provided a bit of an update on the development of Payday 3.

Starbreeze Studios recently took to Twitter to let fans know that Payday 3 is certainly still in development, but it is still in the “design phase.” In addition to this, the devs also note that they are using Unreal Engine to create the upcoming game. Unfortunately, they also confirmed that the release date is currently unknown, but considering the stage in which the devs are, it’s going to be quite some time before the title arrives.

Following the unfortunate circumstances that came along with the launch of Overkill’s The Walking Dead, which did not do as well as anybody had hoped, it’s good to see that Payday 3 is still chugging along. While it may not be as far along as fans would hope, it’s still happening, and that is what’s important for those looking to pull off some crime sprees of their own.

As it stands, Payday 3 is currently in development with a release date that is to be announced at a later date. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
