Patrick Wilson Joins the Cast as Orm in Upcoming Aquaman Movie
The Aquaman movie has cast veteran actor Patrick Wilson as Orm, aka Ocean Master, the half-brother of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman.
Patrick Wilson has been cast as Orm in 2018’s superhero film Aquaman. In the comics, Orm is the titular hero’s half brother that frequently attempts to steal the underwater throne of Atlantis, similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Loki.
Orm sees Aquaman as unfit to rule because of his half-human nature and eventually becomes known as the supervillain Ocean Master. Whether or not we’ll see this transformation happen in the movie is still anybody’s guess.
Wilson had previously collaborated with director James Wan in 2013’s The Conjuring as well as this year’s follow up The Conjuring 2. DC fans with long attention spans would also remember Patrick Wilson’s portrayal of Nite Owl in Zack Snyder’s 2009 film Watchmen.
Joining Wilson in the Aquaman movie is Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry / Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, and Willem Dafoe as Vulko.
Aquaman will hit theaters October 5, 2018.
