Pacifica Taco Bell Recreated In No Man’s Sky By Game Designer

Pacifica Taco Bell

Despite having a rocky start, No Man’s Sky has managed to cultivate a passionate and loyal fanbase years after its launch. The procedurally generated game caught a lot of flack for not initially delivering on its promised features, but eventually made good on many of them with the No Man’s Sky Next updates last year. These updates helped keep their committed players even moreso in the longhaul, including the game’s talented custom location creators. These skilled players have recreated everything from the Notre Dame to the Spiral Hill from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Now, one designer has recreated the ritzy new Pacifica Taco Bell in California.

Game Designer JP LeBreton recently posted photos of his recreated Pacifica Taco Bell in No Man’s Sky on his personal Twitter account. LeBreton has released several games through itch.io and currently works as a game designer for Double Fine on Psychonauts 2. Putting his game design experience to its supreme potential, LeBreton found no better subject for his skills than the beautiful new beachfront Taco Bell cantina that resides in Pacifica, California. The results, while perhaps not an exact match, are quite stunningly close.

While the created structure was unable to use any official Taco Bell logos, the building shape itself almost exactly matches the design of the cantina, and it even features an outdoor seating area in the back. Pair this with some palm trees and a gorgeous animated sunset in the back, and it looks just like it was on the California coast. This mod was even so clever, Hello Games founder Sean Murray shared it. This is quite a brilliant custom location to recreate, and all it needs are procedurally generated aliens that look like walking chalupas to reside in it.
