Outriders developer, People Can Fly (PCF), openly declared the acquisition of the formerly known Phosphor Games, the studio that created games like Brookhaven Experiment, Man of Steel, Gemini: Heroes Reborn, and more. Newly established as People Can Fly Chicago, the team begins their new chapter as the third North American location, as well as the seventh location globally.

The acquisition will serve to bolster the presence People Can Fly already has in America and across the world. With the recent success of their RPG shooter, Outriders, there’s a need for seasoned developers to strengthen their position on the gaming market. According to Phosphor Studios CEO, “We are very excited to be joining People Can Fly to open a brand new Triple-A studio – People Can Fly Chicago. Our goal is to strengthen PCF’s presence in the US and help build People Can Fly as a global brand.”

People Can Fly CEO, Sebastian Wojciechowski, believes the acquisition is the right move for the future of both companies. “Taking over the Phosphor Games’ team is simply an execution of our strategy, announced during PCF Group’s recent IPO,” said Wojciechowski. “With the variety of on-going projects, we need well-seasoned, ambitious professionals to bring our plans to fruition.”

The Outriders developer established its origins in Poland in 2002 and has since expanded to various locations across the globe, including Rzeszów, Łódź, New York, Newcastle, and Montreal. Currently, the company is working on two other triple-A titles — one for Square Enix, and an action-adventure with Take-Two Interactive. In addition to the work they continue to put into Outriders, the team has an even busier schedule ahead of them!
