As eager Pokemon fans await the launch of New Pokemon Snap later this month, Nintendo revealed an interactive surprise! It’s a map that lets players discover interesting Pokemon facts and take special photos. “This fun and interactive activity will bring you through eight stops where you can explore the Lental Region and discover unknown islands and its Pokemon inhabitants through exclusive video clips.”

In New Pokemon Snap, players get the chance to travel through the different islands that make up the Lental region with diverse biomes, including deserts, jungles, fields, and more. Each photo is saved to an in-game album where players can edit and adjust them with effects like filters, blur, stickers, frames, and more.

As players continue their curious explorations of the area, they will gradually determine the origins of the Illumina phenomenon where some Pokemon are glow with dazzling lights. Why are these pocket monsters sparkling, and what’s causing it?

New Pokemon Snap comes to Nintendo Switch on April 30th for $59.99 (USD).
