The Order 1886 Studio Working On New Third-Person Action Game, Two Other Titles In Development

The Order 1886 Studio

The Order 1886 had a rather polarizing effect on those that played the game after it was released exclusively for the PlayStation 4. On the one hand the graphics were absolutely stellar, and the game as a whole made great strides in harnessing the power of the PS4. On the other hand, the quirky mechanics and rather short story weighed its reviews down to the point where the game is considered a rather niche title for the PS4. All that aside, The Order 1886 studio Ready At Dawn has taken what they have learned and are currently hard at work on a brand new AAA title.

Revealed over on Ready At Dawn’s career pageThe Order 1886 studio is now taking applications for almost all facets of game development, including Art, Design, Engineering, and more. In the studio’s opening statement on the page, it is revealed that they are currently working on three games, one of which is the AAA third-person action title mentioned above. Here is the breakdown of the three in-development games:

Ready At Dawn – Games In Development

  • A new AAA third-person action console title, based on a brand new original IP
  • The expansion of the award-winning Echo universe through our ongoing partnership with Oculus
  • Continued development of Deformers for its upcoming China launch in partnership with Tencent

Revealed on the very first line, the upcoming AAA third-person action game is a console title based on a brand new original IP. While in itself this news is exciting, it also suggests that The Order 1886 may have been a one-and-done deal given its mixed reception. It is certainly possible that the developer may choose to revisit the franchise at a later date, though if this upcoming third-person action console title is successful it is likely that the studio will focus all its efforts on it. The Order 1886 is now available on PlayStation 4.
