Nintendo Switch Emulator Announced By The Creators Of Citra

Nintendo Switch Emulator

There are quite a few emulators for Nintendo based consoles such as the handheld GameBoy devices, Nintendo 64, and more. Now the same authors of the popular 3DS emulator called Citra have announced that they are working on a Nintendo Switch version just 10 months after the hybrid console’s release.

The emulator is called Yuzu, named after a citrus fruit used in many Asian cuisines, while also used in homage to the Citra emulator and its developers. Yuzu is being written in C++ and is actively maintained for Windows, macOS, and Linux. In its current state, the emulator can only be used for homebrew research and development purposes at this time. With the similarities between the 3DS and Switch, players can expect Yuzu to be built similarly to its older sibling. Sadly, there’s no word yet on when it will be able to run some of the amazing titles that the Nintendo Switch has to offer. The team invites fans to “stay tuned,” while also encouraging hopefuls to check out their Nintendo Switch emulator’s website for more details.

What titles are you excited to arrive on Yuzu? Let us know your thoughts on the upcoming Nintendo Switch emulator and more in the comments section below. As always, don’t forget to follow Don’t Feed the Gamers on Tiwtter for 24/7 coverage of all things gaming and entertainment.
