With the likes of Monster Hunter Rise, new Nintendo Switch Lite versions, partnerships with celebrities like Kat Perry, and New Pokemon Snap, 2021 has been rife with news and releases. During a financial call with investors and stakeholders, Nintendo revealed a variety of statistics and summaries on their revenue within the past fiscal year. On top of the constant flux of new releases, Nintendo also confirmed that “many” new games will be released this fiscal year.

“Many new software titles will be released this fiscal year, starting in the first quarter, which we think will help continuously expand the range of consumers who play Nintendo Switch to include those who haven’t played Nintendo Switch in a while or are completely new users,” said Nintendo Japan’s Representative Director and President Shuntaro Furukawa.

Longstanding “evergreen” series like Animal Crossing and Mario often drive successful quarters for Nintendo. Take Animal Crossing: New Horizons, for example, which released within the first few months of COVID-19 lockdowns. Not only have people been spending more time at home to stave off the spread of a highly infectious virus, but many are discovering videos games as a entertaining past time. That and it’s a method of escape for many!

Aside from Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Skyward Sword HD, and a couple Summer titles, there aren’t many officially confirmed titles yet. There are a few titles coming the first quarter of 2022. There’s news yet of the information on highly-anticipated titles like Metroid Prime 4 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2.
